What's new on Reborn

Tuesday, September 20, 2011/Potion conjuring, defense improvements, runemaking improvements and bug fixes!

Today we've made several improvements to both defense and mitigation, as well as runemaking. Here's a list of the changes:

• Armor wasn't working properly for some elemental damage, so higher damage than desired was being taken from Dragons, Sirens, and others - this is now fixed.

- For clarity, armor provides full reduction to physical attacks, and half the reduction to these magical attacks. For more mitigation, choose magic resist gear.

• Dodge rating wasn't working reliably - 9% ended up being more like 1%, this is now fixed.

• We didn't like the way block rating was working. Originally it was improving your flat defense by a certain amount (which SHOULD have led to more blocks...). Instead we changed it to block a certain percentage of melee attacks, which ironically matches the name better.

• Fixed a few bugs with how blocks/shielded/armor hits were displaying - if you avoid an attack with shielding or block rating, you will see a yellow tink; if you avoid an attack with dodge rating, you will see a white poof.

To clarify these changes provide a huge buff to mitigation overall, you'll definitely notice it!

For runemakers, we added the ability to make "mass" quantities of all runes - producing 10x charges instantly. We also removed the need for blank runes at all, so you can produce runes instantly.

Last but not least, we also added the ability to create health potions out of thin air! You can produce the same potions that your vocation would use, which will finally allow knights to produce a useful supply for their own hunts. Posted by GM Solus

Beware of Siren Tower west of Naratar! This tower features powerful Sirens that will not hesitate to lure you to your death.

We also updated several loot tables for stronger monsters, they'll now drop new items, including new gear for mages! Posted by GM Solus

    PLAYER RESEARCH

A brand new feature is here for the OT! Player research!

Certain things of interest are selected by the Avia Research Group (ARG ;) and become researchable. As players do certain things (typically events) they will gain research points for the server as a whole. When all the research is complete, certain new content is unlocked and secrets are revealed!
